How Paul Dewar is living and dying with love and community

“The Get-Well cards from family, friends, former colleagues, supporters and strangers alike began to arrive soon after the former MP shared in a Facebook post the dire news he had brain cancer. A 36-kilometre skate on the Rideau Canal the day after his 55th birthday in late January left the athletic Dewar with some discomfort in his left arm. Scans would later show a cyst on the right side of his brain and a follow-up MRI revealed it to be a tumour. He underwent brain surgery on Valentine’s Day and began treatment soon after. ‘I am perched by the side of a strong flowing river of love that gives me the courage and inspiration to take on this challenge,’ Dewar wrote in the Feb. 17 post.”
